In 2020, a conflict arose between two criminal groups in Gävle which resulted in a series of shootings during the summer of the same year.
The police have referred to the rival gangs as red and blue grouping.
The conflict has subsided in connection with deprivations of liberty within the blue grouping, but according to prosecutor Fredrik Normark, strife arose within the red grouping in 2021.
- The information we have is that there was a split within the red side and those who previously stood on the same side have gone their separate ways and are now in conflict with each other, says Fredrik Normark.
Text messages indicate that the conflict has to do with drug sales.
"Revenge action for the murder of Söder"
According to the prosecution, it is this division that is the basis for the murder in Söder in November 2021 and that a man in his 20s was judged by people who are close to the murdered man behind the planning.
In December last year, the 20-year-old was shot when he was traveling in a car in Forsbacka.
The three suspected perpetrators are now charged with attempted murder.
