The head of the Court of Instruction Number 47 of Madrid, Adolfo Carretero, has refused to charge the cousin of the mayor of Madrid, Carlos Martínez Almeida, in the case where businessmen Luis Medina and Alberto Luceño are being investigated for fraud in the ball of the masks sold to the City Council of the capital in the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a car, to which EL MUNDO has had access, the instructor maintains that José Luis Martínez Almeida's cousin "limited himself to providing Luis Medina with the email of the person in charge of health purchases at the Madrid City Council", in reference to Elena Collado, without any type of "pressure" having been verified, as required by the criminal type that the popular accusations pointed out in their request for indictment.

Carretero, however, considers it pertinent to take a statement from the cousin of the municipal councilor as a witness in the procedure and summons him next day 12 in his court.
