The news of the killing of a leader in "Saraya al-Salam" (the military wing of the Sadrist movement) led by Muqtada al-Sadr, by unknown persons, has sparked controversy on social media platforms in Iraq about the existence of liquidations between armed Shiite factions.

The leader of the Peace Brigades, Abbas Dinar Al-Shuwaili, was shot dead yesterday, Saturday, in the Al-Hussein neighborhood in the center of Al-Amarah, the largest city in Maysan Governorate (southern Iraq).

And local media indicated that the assassination of Al-Shuwaili is linked to the case of the killing of the leader of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Wissam Al-Alawi, during the popular protests in Maysan Governorate in 2019.

Al-Shuwaili's assassination was preceded by a traffic accident that led to the death of Abdul Karim Al-Ansari, Deputy Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, at a time when activists circulated a video clip of a cleric saying, "Unfortunately, the hypocrites have betrayed you" while transporting the body of Ansar in an ambulance.

Against the backdrop of the assassination of al-Shuwaili, the death of al-Ansari and the continuation of the political struggle over government formation, especially between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework - which includes other prominent Shiite forces - for the position of prime minister, Iraqis said through their accounts on social media platforms that the killing of the leaders of the armed factions in the south of the country is linked to the conflict. between those factions.

Political activist Ahmed Al-Abadi said, through his Twitter account, that there is "timing, messages and goals, after the death of Abdul Karim Al-Ansari in a traffic accident that aroused suspicion and the assassination of a leader in Saraya Al-Salam in the city of Al-Amarah."

Journalist Raad Hashem asked, through his Twitter account, "Has the series of assassinations begun?", referring to the news of the assassination of the leader of Saraya Al-Salam Brigades, Abbas Al-Shuwaili, in the Al-Hussein neighborhood in central Maysan province.

The journalist Ahmed Al-Tayeb wrote on his Twitter account, "The situation in the south is very critical and requires urgent government intervention. From my point of view, it requires intervention from the religious authority, because according to what is being circulated there, the situation is completely out of control."

One of the tweeters commented, "The first confirmation message for the assassination of Abu Maryam Al-Ansari is the word of a martyr, and the second message is one of the mourners close to him. He shouted, saying: The hypocrites have betrayed you." Frame and current, pocket night and take a threshold."

Bloggers and activists on social media platforms circulated a video clip showing a cleric during the transfer of the body of Abdul Karim al-Ansari, chanting, "You have betrayed you, you have betrayed the hypocrites."

🔴 As the leaks said about the assassination of Al-Ansari, the second man in the Badr Organization.

One of the people circulating during the funeral says:

(Unfortunately, the hypocrites have betrayed you!!)

So is the car overturning considered treachery on the part of the hypocrites
