Obligating an investor to pay 6 million dirhams to a citizen

A dispute erupted between a citizen who owns an industrial plot of land that an investor rented for 10 years, and after the end of the contract, he refused to hand it over and it remained in his possession for a year. Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Family Court and Civil and Administrative Claims ruled obligating the investor to pay the citizen six million and 190 thousand dirhams of the rental value of the land for a period of one year.

In the details, a citizen filed a lawsuit against an investor, in which he demanded to oblige him to pay 6 million and 190 thousand dirhams for the same rent for the land subject of the lawsuit with an obligation to compensate 500 thousand dirhams, in addition to the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and in return for attorneys’ fees, indicating that he is the owner of the right to use a plot of land in the Musaffah Industrial and designated area By the municipality for medical clinics, and an investment contract was concluded with the defendant according to which the latter invests the plot of land, and after receiving the land, he constructed buildings and then rented them to a hospital for a period of 10 years in exchange for six million and 190 thousand dirhams annually. At the end of the investment contract, the defendant refused to hand over the land to him. Forced him to file a lawsuit to demand the expiration of the investment contract and the recovery of the leased property.

The court ruled to oblige the defendant to pay the plaintiff six million and 190 thousand dirhams, which is in return for the rental value, and an amount of 20 thousand dirhams as compensatory compensation for the material and moral damages he sustained, with obligating the defendant to pay the fees and expenses of the case.
