“The People’s Assembly of Gagauzia adopts this resolution: to allow the use of two, three or more colored ribbons, including black and orange colors, on the territory of the autonomous formation of Gagauzia during mass events as part of the celebration of Victory Day on May 9, 2022,” the document says.

Earlier, the head of Gagauzia, Irina Vlakh, called the decision of the Moldovan government to ban the St. George ribbon erroneous.

On April 19, Moldovan President Maia Sandu approved a ban on the use of the St. George ribbon.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called this decision of the Moldovan authorities a betrayal and called for abandoning confrontational rhetoric.
