Nature photographer Mark Lamble has spent a lot of time with Aboriginal guides in Australia to follow the so-called "birds of fire".

When forest fires ravage, brown barns and other birds of prey flock over the fire, catching insects, reptiles and rodents fleeing the flames.

But among these birds a special behavior has been observed.

It seems that they are not just using the fires to find food.

More and more indications are that the birds are actually spreading the fire further.
