• The first room dedicated to team virtual reality has just opened its doors in Lille.

  • This e-sport arena allows players to compete in teams in different games.

  • A concept that has already found its followers after less than a month of opening.

Playing in virtual reality is good on your sofa and on a network, but it's even better if you play it with others and in reality.

Based on this principle, the company EVA is beginning to develop arenas dedicated to e-sport in France.

And the one in Lille just opened less than a month ago at BTwin Village.

The principle is simple: put on a virtual reality helmet, bring a dummy rifle and play as a team in a dedicated space of 1,000 m2 divided into two.

“There are two arenas of 450 m2 each in which ten people can move.

We can be divided into teams of 5 against 5 maximum for 19 euros per person for 40 minutes of play, ”explains Sébastien, one of the managers of the Lille room.

And to compete or play with friends, three different games are possible.

“There is After H battle arena, which is a game where teams compete against each other.

There is also a zombie game but also a role-playing and adventure game called Legend of Mars,” continues the manager.

"It's really team cohesion"

And the concept quickly found its followers.

Commercial director of a Lille company, Dimitri decided to organize a team building in the new e-sport arena.

And he came away convinced.

"Basically, I'm not a fan of video games at first but I'm really amazed by the reality of the experience.

When you put on the mask, you really are in a new world and I didn't expect it.

We really get caught up in the game, ”admits the executive who found what he had come for.

“It's really team cohesion and it's ideal for team building.

For example, we had the mission to defend a territory against another team.

As a result, each team has developed strategies to defend its territory.

Besides, it wasn't necessarily the team that developed the most strategies that won, but it was the one that was the most capable of adapting," concludes Dimitri who, once the helmet was removed, fed up with seeing his colleagues evolve in the arena.

“You don't think you look so ridiculous, but you're really into it.

It's really stunning."

"We came for a game but I think we've already done a dozen"

Same opinion on the side of Pascal.

This video game enthusiast has not discovered the virtual reality that he has been practicing for several years on his sofa.

Nevertheless, the quadra took a slap by coming to play in the arena.

“In his living room, we make the character move with a controller, but here, it's us who move.

It is fabulous.

We evolve in the environment and it is impressive.

I am amazed.

We came for a game but I think we've already done a dozen.

», smiles this Belgian, convinced by this life-size experience.
