The Republicans launched their legislative campaign on Saturday by marking their difference with the presidential majority while Robin Reda, LR deputy from Essonne and candidate for re-election, finally joined the macronie.

All LR candidates will campaign around five priorities.

The Republicans launched their legislative campaign on Saturday by reaffirming their independence in the face of temptations to leave for Macron.

"Nothing is decided, things are moving on the ground," said party president Christian Jacob after a National Council at party headquarters.

These legislative elections promise to be particularly delicate for LR after the 4.8% of its candidate Valérie Pécresse in the presidential election.

The party, which today holds a hundred seats in the National Assembly, is counting on its local roots to convince.

"We must not hide"

All the Republican (LR) candidates will campaign around five priorities: reduce the price of petrol to €1.50, increase pensions, introduce exemplary minimum sentences, fill medical gaps and reduce public spending.

Christian Jacob, aware of LR's difficulties after Valérie Pécresse's score in the presidential election, encourages his candidates not to be ashamed of their party: "We must not hide, we must go with our convictions. does not prevent strong territorial anchoring. But there is also a need for a national message. This is precisely the objective of the five priorities. I tell our candidates that it is in their interest to put it forward because few can present themselves on their name alone"
