A man in his thirties died on Saturday morning, around 11:15 a.m., on the tracks of Lyon's B metro, reports

The victim was seen getting off the platform between the Stade de Gerland and Gare d'Oullins stations, and moving towards the metro tunnel.

The alert was quickly given and the metro driver who was advancing at the same time made an emergency stop.

Unfortunately, the maneuver was not enough, and the victim was struck.

She died instantly.

Traffic was stopped until 3 p.m.

The driver was immediately relieved and taken care of by his superiors.
