He jumped into the sea without hesitation, took off his wet shirt and swam towards the boy.

He then went out to the sand with the people around him to rescue the boy.

Shortly after the rescue, Burt put his wet shirt back on and continued the broadcast.

"A 10-year-old boy from Pakistan fell into the water," he said. "His parents were screaming and screaming at their son's name."

"It took about 10 minutes for the kid to swim," Burt said in an interview.

The director of 7News Camera, who filmed this at the time, said, "I was afraid that the boy and Bert might have an accident together."

"About four or five people worked together to rescue them," Bert said. "He's breathing, conscious and able to speak. I think the boy must have drank quite a bit of water." .

"As we just saw, the drowning point (shallow) may not seem dangerous, but it can be fatal for people with little experience in swimming," Burt said of the rescue.

He also said that "there were six rescues in the Gold Coast area this week alone," highlighting the dangers for beachgoers.

Meanwhile, it is said that the boy rescued by Bert was taken to a local university hospital for treatment.
