The cat is red-orange, with white areas around the face and paws.

It stands in the midst of the devastation that is Butja, Ukraine, surrounded by debris and burnt out tanks.

The cat appears in several photos, taken by a number of different photographers.

As Russian troops withdrew from the Kyiv area, world media began reporting from the severely wounded suburb of Butja.

SVT's photographer Emil Larsson was there, together with foreign reporter Bengt Norborg, and recognizes the picture of the "Butja cat".

He also recognizes the place where the picture was taken, and had been there himself, one or two days before the world press caused a huge congestion in the area.

- I have seen this picture, I have seen that it is used in Russian propaganda, says Emil Larsson.
