“Today, subscribers of the republican telecom operator Phoenix with the numbering code +38071 will receive an additional number in the code of the Russian numbering system,” said Denis Pushilin, head of the DPR.
According to Pushilin, each subscriber will receive an SMS notification about the assignment of a new number, while the billing and cost of calls will remain at the same level.
He also clarified that the replacement of the SIM card "is not required at this stage."
The head of the DPR explained that the new number will match the current one with the last seven digits.
“For example, if there was (+38071)1234567, then it will become (+7949)1234567,” he said.
Also, the Ministry of Communications of the LPR reported that subscribers in the republic will receive a number in the code of the Russian numbering system +7 959 to their mobile numbers +38 072 without replacing SIM cards.
“The number when using numbering with the code +7 959 will correspond to the previously issued number of the Lugakom operator, taking into account the change in the code,” the ministry said.
Earlier, Ambassadors of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics Olga Makeeva and Rodion Miroshnik presented copies of their credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko.
