After Eric Zemmour's score below what the polls promised (7.07%) in the presidential election, the young party fears a "useful vote" in favor of the National Rally.

The formation founded by the ex-journalist presents young candidates – 42 years of average age according to the party –, and maintains the vagueness on a possible candidacy of its main figures, Eric Zemmour in the lead.

His speech on Saturday in front of the candidates of his party should clarify his ambitions.

"I'm very tempted, I'm still hesitating," he confided again on Tuesday.

In order to exist on the national scene, "we will need generals who go into battle", argued on LCI Guillaume Peltier, the only deputy (ex-LR) to have joined the ranks of Eric Zemmour.

Vice President of Reconquest!

did not indicate whether he was re-enlisting or not.

The profile of the other Reconquest candidates is being disseminated in dribs and drabs on social networks.

Among them is Damien Rieu, co-founder of the far-right group Identity Generation, who is seeking the constituency of Menton (Alpes-Maritimes).

But the 550 candidates will not go hunting on the lands of Eric Ciotti, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan or Marine Le Pen.

An outstretched hand rebuffed by the RN: Party chairman Jordan Bardella has announced plans to field a candidate in each constituency.

At Saturday's meeting, not all minds will be on the Bourbon Palace.

"The objective is also to get to know each other and prepare for the next elections, such as the European ones in 2024," party spokesman Benjamin Cauchy told AFP.

Figures from the Zemmour campaign, such as Antoine Diers or Jean Messiha, left the party after the disappointment of the presidential election.

Others, like Stanislas Rigault, leader of the Young people with Zemmour, are approached by the RN, while rejecting their advances.

"I sincerely think that we will work [with Jordan Bardella] in the next few years, or in the next few months," Stanislas Rigault told CNews.

"So let's try to work together in the next few weeks," he retorted.
