According to him, EU unity is collapsing.

“The European Parliament called for a deep reform of the European Union.

Among the approved decisions is the abolition of the principle of joint decision-making,” Volodin wrote on Telegram.

The politician added that it is proposed to abandon the veto power of EU members.

Volodin noted that if such a decision is made, millions of Europeans will lose their right to vote, and their countries will finally lose their sovereignty.

“If the states that are part of the EU today want to maintain sovereignty and defend the interests of their citizens, they have only one way left - to leave the European Union,” the speaker of the Russian State Duma emphasized.

Earlier, Volodin said that the sanctions imposed against Russia are illegal and European countries are compensating for the harm caused to the Russian economy because of them.

On May 5, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban accused Brussels that the proposals of the European Commission on an oil embargo against Russia could undermine the unity of the European Union.
