At half past three on Friday morning, the police rushed to the Röksta area in Eskilstuna where a fire broke out in a terraced house.

- We do not know exactly how it started to burn, but the residents woke up to a fire in their front door.

They alerted themselves, says Åsa Willsund, the police's press spokesperson.

On the spot, the police found an object that is suspected to be connected to the fire.

The police do not want to go into what kind of object it is, but say that it indicates that the fire was probably started.

Three cars burned in Torshälla

Half an hour later, just after four o'clock, a new alarm came.

Now it burned in two parked cars in an industrial area on Såggatan in Torshälla.

Before the rescue service could put out the fire, it had time to spread to a third car.

There was also a risk that an adjacent building would catch fire.

On the spot, the police found traces of a flammable liquid.

- As there are two suspected arson attacks that took place close in time, we are looking at a connection, says Åsa Willsund.

No witnesses should have seen the events.

Both fires are being investigated as arson and there is no suspect.
