Forces from the Israeli army, police and intelligence continue to comb large areas in search of the perpetrators of Operation Elad, which left at least 3 Israelis dead and 3 seriously wounded, while members of the Knesset called for the assassination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in response to this operation.

The Israeli police said the two attackers were traveling between several locations in a park in the town, carrying a firearm and an axe.

On Friday morning, the Israeli security forces published pictures of two Palestinian youths from the village of Rummana, west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, in addition to their names.

These services claimed that the photos showed the two perpetrators of the attack, which took place yesterday evening, Thursday, in the town of Elad, east of Tel Aviv and near it, and said that they were Asaad Al-Rifai and Sobhi Abu Shqair, one of them is 19 years old and the other is 20 years old.

Walid al-Omari, the director of the Al-Jazeera office in Palestine, described the publication of this information about the two Palestinian youths as an unusual step by the Israeli security and intelligence authorities, as it called on the public to help reach them because they had failed to do so until now, and it is not known if they managed to infiltrate and return to the West Bank.

Earlier, Channel 13 on Israeli television said that the assessments of the Israeli security establishment indicate that the two perpetrators of the Elad operation are still inside Israel and have not entered the West Bank.

She added that the process of hunting and searching for them may extend for days, noting that they have no security precedents or affiliation with any of the Palestinian factions.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett vowed to arrest those he described as "saboteurs and their supporters", and that they would "pay the price."

This came at the conclusion of security consultations, in which he said, "Our enemies went out to carry out a campaign of killing Jews wherever they are, and we will make the terrorists pay the price, as will the environment that supports them."

Invitations to target Sinwar

There were calls from members of the Knesset (the Israeli parliament) inciting the assassination of the head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, although his movement did not adopt the operation.

MK Eli Avidar said, in a tweet on Twitter, that Israel must inform Egypt that "Sinwar's immunity is coming to an end."

He added that the leadership in Gaza must pay a personal price, so that the call to carry out operations in Israel stops. He also called for strengthening security coordination with the Palestinian Authority.

In the same context, MK Yisrael Katz stressed that assassinations are the only way to deter and stop operations.

"We must assassinate Yahya Sinwar and return to the policy of assassinations of the leaders of the organizations in Gaza," he said.

Yesterday, Thursday, MK Itamar Ben Gvir called on the Israeli Air Force to bombard Beit Sinwar in Gaza, because it was "the instigator of the attack," he said.

The Palestinian factions have blessed the El-Ad operation, and saw it as a natural response to the occupation’s violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially the incursions carried out by settlers yesterday, Thursday, during Israel’s celebration of what it calls “Independence Day.”

"The enemy's threats to assassinate leaders will not deter us from defending our land, our sanctity, our right to return and the liberation of our prisoners," said Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau.

Haniyeh also stressed that the Palestinian people will not stand silent "as long as you continue to target our sanctities and our sanctuaries and underestimate our people and the feelings of our nation," stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line that is not subject to any bargaining and is not divisible.

For its part, the Islamic Jihad movement praised Operation El-Ad and considered it a victory for Al-Aqsa after the occupation army and settlers crossed the red lines.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine described the operation as an expression of the response of the Palestinian people and their resistance to the incursions of Al-Aqsa and the attempts to Judaize Jerusalem.

As for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, he condemned Operation El-Ad and said - in a statement - that the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians only leads to a further deterioration of the situation.

Abbas also warned against the settlers exploiting this process to attack the Palestinian people.
