  From January to March this year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized the first routine monitoring of the quality and safety of national agricultural products in 2022, sampling 6,910 samples of 86 varieties and 127 parameters of three categories of products, including vegetables, livestock and poultry products, and aquatic products. The overall pass rate was 97.7%.

  According to reports, for the first time this year, a total of 586 vegetable production bases, 426 vegetable transport vehicles, 285 slaughterhouses, 169 breeding farms, 665 vehicles (pieces) in 112 large and medium-sized cities in 31 provinces were sampled for the first routine monitoring. Aquatic product transport vehicles and holding tanks and 476 agricultural product wholesale (farmers) markets.

The results showed that the qualified rates of vegetables, livestock and poultry products and aquatic products were 97%, 99% and 97.4% respectively.

  In terms of monitored varieties, among the vegetables sampled, all aquatic vegetables were qualified, and the qualified rates of melon vegetables, edible fungi, cabbage vegetables and leafy vegetables were 98.9%, 98.7%, 98.5% and 97.9% respectively.

Among the livestock and poultry products sampled, all pig livers were qualified, and the sampling qualification rates of pork, beef, mutton, poultry and eggs were 99.7%, 97.8%, 99.5%, 98.2% and 98.5% respectively.

Among the bulk aquaculture products sampled, the bighead carp, prawn and mandarin fish were all qualified, and the qualified rates of grass carp and common carp were 99.5% and 99.3% respectively.

  The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that it has notified the monitoring results to all localities in a timely manner, requiring local agricultural and rural departments to take targeted measures to control risks, increase the number of random inspections in key areas and key links, and be aware of the quality and safety of agricultural products in the region.
