According to Ida Kedling, business developer Digital care, there are many regions that offer digital services, but not in the same way.

- We have involved all health centers, including the private ones that collaborate with us, the hospital-specialized care and public dental care.

We are the first in Sweden to do that, she says.

Physically or digitally?

Physical care contacts will work as usual, and the new service should be seen as a complement.

For example, some return visits will be able to take place digitally instead of on site.

When the first contact becomes digital, the hope is to prioritize more easily so that those who have the greatest need for care get stuck.

- You can not only seek digital care, but also seek care digitally, says Ida Kedling.

Reduced costs

In 2019, the Gävleborg region had a cost of almost SEK 9 million for the private online doctors that the residents used.

That cost may be less in the future.

- In the long run, it will be like this if we keep our patients fully, says Ida Kedling.
