  • War in Ukraine The mysterious unknown drone that flew over three NATO countries without anyone noticing

The president of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, has threatened this Tuesday to veto the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO if he has the opportunity, again marking distances on an issue that adds to the various fronts open

against the Government of Andrej Plenkovic

.

Milanovic has promised to intervene to stop the hypothetical Swedish and Finnish accessions if consent is asked at some point, reports public television.

Croatia has been part of NATO since 2009, although in this type of case

the president would not have to intervene.

Milanovic's allegations involve linking the approval of the expansion of the Atlantic Alliance to the

reform of the electoral system in Bosnia and Herzegovina

, in such a way that the needs of the Croatian population are taken into account.

The president has warned that he will

consider "traitors" all those who help

Finland and Sweden join NATO without Western governments collaborating in any way with the pending Bosnian reform, according to the Bloomberg news agency.

The prime minister, who bears the executive weight in Croatia, has accused Milanovic of aligning himself with the Kremlin in the midst of a military offensive on Ukraine: "The position against the expansion of NATO is pro-Russian."

"It is a catastrophe, very damaging for Croatia," he lamented.
