Anne Hidalgo criticizes the agreement for the legislative elections between LFI and the PS, disrespectful "of people" and which "does not carry the necessary guarantees" on several topics, but she "does not wish to prevent" its approval Thursday evening by her party, she told AFP.

The mayor of Paris and ex-PS candidate in the presidential election made this statement a few hours from the National Council of the party whose 300 members must, from 7 p.m., approve or not the programmatic and electoral agreement concluded on Wednesday. with LFI.

“The agreement proposed by LFI and Jean-Luc Mélenchon does not provide the necessary guarantees on subjects as essential as NATO, European defense, secularism and universal values”, deplores Anne Hidalgo in a written declaration. .

In addition, according to her, "this agreement is not made with respect for people, nor with respect for the elected representatives established in the territories, who nevertheless carry political commitments and citizens resolutely anchored on the left".

The elected official keeps in mind an “injustice”

She takes as an example a relative, "the young deputy Lamia El Aaraje from the constituency of the 20th arrondissement of Paris, even though she had won it a year ago at the ballot box".

The PS did not win in this constituency because LFI considered that its election having been invalidated in January, it was not really outgoing.

It is the rebellious Danielle Simonnet who will be the candidate of the "New popular ecological and social union" (Nupes).

Affirming not to "accept this injustice which must be repaired", Anne Hidalgo assures that she "will be at his side", without specifying whether she encourages him to present a dissident candidacy.
