Ex-Brazilian president: "Ukrainian president acts as if he's in a play."

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky's behavior was "strange" because he "looks like he's in a play".

"I see the Ukrainian president speaking on television, and all parliamentarians in many countries respect him," said the front-runner in Brazil's presidential elections scheduled for October, during an interview with the American "Time" magazine published on Wednesday.

He added: "He appears on television in the morning, noon and evening .. He talks to the English, German, French and Italian parliaments, as if he is running a political campaign."

He stated that the Ukrainian president "should be at the negotiating table," and accused Western powers of "inciting hatred against Russian President Vladimir Putin."

He emphasized that Zelensky wanted war, and if he didn't want war, he would have negotiated a little more.

The former Brazilian president considered that Vladimir Zelensky was responsible for the conflict in his country, because in the war there is not only one accused.

Lula da Silva, 76, who presided over Brazil for two terms from 2003 to 2010, also pointed the finger at US President Joe Biden and said, "I don't think he made the right decision about the conflict in Ukraine."

He added, "The United States has great political influence.. Biden could have avoided war, not instigated it.. He could have talked more and engaged more.. The American president could have taken a plane to Moscow to talk to Putin.. These are the positions expected of a leader. ".

The former president also criticized the United Nations, saying: "We need to create a new global administration and the United Nations today no longer represents anything. Governments do not take the United Nations seriously today, because each one takes its decisions without respecting them."

"We politicians reap what we sow. If I sow brotherhood, solidarity and harmony, I will reap good things. If I sow sedition, I will reap differences."

The former president explained that the guilt also lies with the United States and the European Union, as he said: “What is the reason for the Russian military intervention in Ukraine? NATO? .. The United States and the Union should have said: “Ukraine will not join NATO.. That would to solve the problem."

Lula da Silva noted, "This is the argument they put forward.. If they have one secret, we don't know.. The other issue was Ukraine's accession to the European Union.. Europeans could have said no, now is not the time for Ukraine to join the union." The European, we will wait .. they should not have encouraged confrontation."
