China's envoy says China will not forget NATO's barbaric shelling of embassy in Belgrade

He recalled that in May 1999, the North Atlantic Alliance fired missiles at the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia.

As a result of the incident, three Chinese journalists were killed, more than 20 diplomats were injured.

"The Chinese people will never forget this barbarism, and will never allow such a history to repeat itself," the diplomat said.

Zhang Jun said earlier that NATO's eastward expansion did not make Europe safer, but "sowed the seeds of conflict."
