“During the inspection of the luggage of the detainee, the police officers found that it contained more than 40 sports and hunting cartridges belonging to the category of ammunition, as well as a gas revolver, a trigger for signal cartridges and a signal weapon,” the press service of the department said on transport Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District.

It turned out that the detainee, who had recently been released from prison, was heading home, to the village of Melnichnoye, Primorsky Krai, and, having found ammunition not far from bus stops, he decided to take it with him.

A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Art.

222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and took him into custody.

Earlier in Ulyanovsk, the police detained a resident of the regional center, who carried out illegal storage of cartridge cases and bullets in order to manufacture ammunition.

In total, law enforcement officers seized 300 cartridge cases, 300 bullets and 150 grams of gunpowder from the suspect.
