In Västernorrland, there are currently 643 wind turbines according to the County Administrative Board's database Vindbrukskollen.
Looking ahead, it is in the Sollefteå area that most projects are underway: permits have been granted to build a total of 200 new wind turbines in the municipality.
Fewer applications for new projects
However, the County Administrative Board of Västernorrland sees a development where fewer applications for new projects are now received by the authority.
- On the other hand, we have had a lot of applications for extended start-up times and a number of applications for increased heights, says Ulrika Prytz.
Most are appealed
SVT: What does it look like with appeals against decisions on wind power construction in the county?
- We have no statistics on how many are appealed, but it is very common for permit decisions to be appealed - especially for wind power.
There are many who are affected and many who are interested.
I think it has happened on a few occasions that the decision has gained legal force at once.
