The Avostal factory complex in Mariupol has been under siege for several weeks.
On Tuesday May 3, Russia had launched "a powerful assault", supported by tanks and infantry against the Azovstal factory, the last focus of Ukrainian resistance in Mariupol.
The factory is defended by the Azov Battalion.
Russia announces a ceasefire at the Azovstal factory in Mariupol to evacuate civilians.
On Wednesday fighting was underway at the Azovstal site in Mariupol, Ukraine.
Ukrainian fighters are entrenched in the factory.
