According to the department, such restrictive measures against the Russian media fundamentally violate the key principles of the free flow of information and unhindered access to it.

“Roskomnadzor considers the blocking of the specified account unacceptable and demands that all restrictions be lifted immediately, that the agency be informed, and that the reasons for the introduction of restrictive measures be explained,” the agency said.

Earlier, Deputy Head of Roskomnadzor Vadim Subbotin said that the total amount of fines imposed by the court on YouTube video hosting at the request of the supervisory authority is more than 7 billion rubles.
