Truck manufacturers have begun to focus more and more on electric trucks.
Then there is an increased need for charging posts that suit the trucks' trips, times and charging patterns.
Therefore, Tekniska verken has now invested in a project where they will place charging posts that are adapted for truck drivers.
- We must understand when they need to eat, sleep and refuel, says Ulrika Unell.
Need in Östergötland
The location of the charging posts is something that is now being discussed within the project group.
Ulrika Unell sees a need in Östergötland in particular as it is a good place to recharge if you travel between Malmö and Stockholm.
- It takes about four and a half hours here and then it is a good place to stay, she says.
Jönköping Energi is one of the electricity companies included in the collaboration with Tekniska verken.
They have previously delivered charging units to the city's electric buses.
Jönköping is also well located for charging posts for trucks, as it is located along the E4 between Helsingborg and Stockholm.
