• Events A young man was seriously injured by a stab wound to the heart in a store in Vallecas in another possible incident between gangs

The serious stabbing of a 25-year-old man in the heart last Monday night in the mall

could be related to a theme of jealousy

rather than to a clash between gangs as was initially thought.

The first investigations led to the belief that

Yerson Coimbra, a 25-year-old Spanish nationalized Bolivian

, was stabbed in the chest when he was in a clothing store in the La Gavia shopping center in Villa de Vallecas when he was attacked by members of a rival gang.

The attack occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Monday

inside the Bershka store

.

There a group of four or five people approached the victim.

One of them stabbed him in the chest.

Then they ran away.

The Samur-Civil Protection toilets came to the scene in an ambulance, who verified that the man had been stabbed in the left hemithorax.

In addition, the wounded man had heart disease, so he

was stabilized and later transferred to the October 12 Hospital with a very serious prognosis,

according to Emergencies Madrid.

The National Police has taken charge of the investigation of the event to clarify what happened, specifically the group specialized in Latin gangs of the Information Brigade of Madrid.

The investigations have determined that Yerson had a sentimental relationship with one of the workers of the shopping center.

It is now being investigated whether

the author of the stabbing could be a person who once dated that girl and that he was jealous of her current relationship.

This is the main theory to explain what happened, which would rule out the first impression that it was a new fight between gangs due to the way in which the victim was attacked.

The injured young man is still hospitalized in a very serious condition on October 12, although his evolution has been favorable in the last few hours.

The National Police analyzes

the store's security cameras

and interrogates witnesses to arrest the perpetrators of this attempted murder.
