Plans for a faster train connection between Oslo and Stockholm, via Örebro, Karlstad and Arvika, among others, have been in place for many years.

The company Oslo-Sthlm 2.55, which is owned by several municipalities and regions, is pushing for the project and the CEO, Jonas Karlsson, gave a presentation for Per Bolund on Wednesday.

On October 1, an investigation from the Norwegian side is expected to be completed and presented to the Norwegian government.

In Sweden, the Swedish Transport Administration is waiting for approval to begin an in-depth investigation.

This may come in June, when the government is expected to decide on the national plan for the transport infrastructure until 2033.

The proposal also includes a review of the alternatives available for financing the project.
