The EU-European Union has announced a policy to ban oil imports by the end of the year as additional sanctions on Russia, which continues its military invasion of Ukraine, but some member states have raised concerns and until implementation. Seems to require difficult adjustments.

The European Commission, the EU's executive body, announced additional sanctions against Russia on the 4th, including a ban on oil imports from Russia by the end of the year.

According to diplomatic sources, support for the sanctions was expressed at a meeting of ambassadors of member states on the 4th, while some countries also expressed concerns about a ban on oil imports. ..

Czech Prime Minister Fiara said at a press conference that it would be difficult to ban imports by the end of the year and said, "We are ready to support if we can delay implementation," two years to secure oil from other sources. He expressed his intention to seek a three-year grace period.

Hungary's Foreign Minister Siyarto said in a video posted on Facebook that he "cannot support the sanctions in its current form" and argued that oil pipelined from Russia should be excluded from the import ban.

The implementation of sanctions requires the consent of all member states and the EU will continue discussions, but difficult adjustments are likely to be required before implementation.
