An inmate suspected of having assaulted a supervisor in prison in Hérault

A detainee from the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone remand center (Hérault), near Montpellier, is suspected of having assaulted a supervisor on Monday, after returning from a walk, learned

from the prosecution.

He is accused of having violently grabbed her by the neck.

Several other prison officers had to intervene to release the suspect.

An investigation has been opened.

Ufap Unsa Justice denounced the attack on Tuesday in a statement.

According to the union, the "disturbed" behavior of the suspect was "reported many times" by the agents, but he would not, however, have been taken care of by an adequate cell.
