A man and a woman have been injured after falling down a ravine about 30 meters high in a cove in Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería) when trying to take a selfie.

Sources from the Torrecárdenas University Hospital have informed Efe that the young man is admitted for observation "waiting for tests", while his companion, a 32-year-old woman, has a broken leg and will be "operated on in his hospital." ".

area known as Cristal cove

Being an

requested the help of the emergency services for their rescue.

The Firefighters of Levante Almería, the 061 Health Emergency Center, the Civil Guard and the Local Police were then mobilized, who proceeded to rescue the two people, who suffered various injuries, and transferred them to the Hospital de la Inmaculada de Huércal -Overa (Almeria).

As explained by the Levante Firefighters, according to "information from the same victims", they were going to take a selfie on the cliff and, for unknown reasons, they rushed down it.

On behalf of the Levante Fire Department, three crews from the Turre and Huércal Overa Parks traveled to the scene and upon arrival found the two rushed people and Civil Guard agents.

After an initial assessment, it was decided to immobilize the injured with a vacuum mattress for safe rescue.

First, the woman,

who apparently had

a broken clavicle and ankle

, was rescued and made available to the health workers, who transferred her to the Inmaculada hospital in Huércal-Overa.

They then proceeded to rescue the man, who apparently had superficial damage and was taken to the same hospital.

After being treated at La Inmaculada, both were transferred to the Torrecárdenas University Hospital.
