A disabled soldier who overcame the pain of losing both arms while serving on the front line 16 years ago and won a gold medal in an international competition drew attention after belatedly publicly criticizing the military authorities' 'false courtesy'.

According to today (3rd) Facebook community 'I will deliver on behalf of the Army Training Center' (hereafter the Army War), Na Hyung-yun, a disabled cyclist who lost both arms in an electric shock accident while serving as a non-commissioned officer in 2006, was discharged from the medical service. 38) only recently found out about the existence of a 'disability pension'.

He explains that he first heard about the pension from his fellow players after participating in the 'In Victors Competition', a world award for military athletics held in The Hague, Netherlands last month.

In a media call, Na said, "At the time of the accident, I vividly remember that even though I was receiving medical treatment at a private hospital, I was only pressured by military hospitals, etc. I didn't get it," he recalled.

Na, who had to amputate both arms after being electrocuted by high-voltage electricity during the restoration of the GOP unit's fences, etc.

Only recently, after participating in the Invictus Games, I inquired about a pension application to the Ministry of National Defense, but in fact, it was 'rejected'.

This is because Article 49 of the current Military Accident Compensation Act stipulates that 'if the benefit is not exercised for 5 years from the date on which the cause arose, it will be extinguished by the completion of prescription'.

This means that you must apply within 5 years of the date of disability to receive benefits.

However, he pointed out that this regulation was unreasonable as there was no information related to it based on the guidance received from the Ministry of National Defense at the time of discharge.

He said, "Recently, when I inquired with the department in charge of the Ministry of National Defense, I only got an absurd reply saying, 'I will accept the application, but it will be disapproved because the statute of limitations has passed.'

He also said, "Even in the military hospital where I was hospitalized just before discharge from the military hospital and the personnel staff of the unit affiliated with it, there is no one who knows the 'reduction compensation law' itself. “It is necessary to change the rules, such as changing the standard,” he emphasized.

He said that he was envious of foreign soldiers who were proud of 'injuries during service' after participating in the Invictus tournament. I hope the policy will change so that we can take responsibility until the end.”
