Near Angers, the motorist suspected of a fatal collision surrenders

The driver of a Renault car involved in a fatal collision on Saturday evening, in Beaufort-en-Anjou (Maine-et-Loire), east of Angers, finally surrendered to the gendarmerie on Monday, reports

The man, who was actively sought this weekend, was taken into custody.

Ongoing investigation

Saturday, around 9 p.m., on the D7 near La Ménitré, a 22-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in an accident involving a car.

The pilot did not survive despite the arrival of help on the spot.

The circumstances of the accident have not, for the time being, been able to be established with precision.

The investigation is continuing.
