During the last two years that Dennis Krogh-Vennemo in Vidsel had an electric car, it has been 10,000 km behind the wheel.

He commutes from his home in Vidsel to his work in Luleå, a journey of just over ten miles one easy road.

With a battery that holds 52 kilowatt hours (kWh), the Dennis Krogh-Vennemo electric car has an approximate range of 400 km before it is time to charge.

- I usually charge when I get home in the evening.

A trip to and from work on a nice summer day costs me 7-9 kroner, but that may be double in the winter, he says.

95 percent of the time, Dennis Krogh-Vennemo charges the car at home and it differs a bit which season you drive during.

But above all, it's about how fast you drive.

- You can not be in 110 after the highway, you can be in maximum 100 then.

But it is something that everyone could do regardless of which car you drive.

Drive 5,000 miles a year

He has driven 10,000 km in two years.

The many miles have mainly been driven on roads in Norr- and Västerbotten.

Despite the fact that Dennis Krogh-Vennemo spends much of his free time in the woods and fields, he has not yet run out of electricity and is standing somewhere.

- You simply have to plan your driving a little differently and maybe be prepared to stop if you travel a longer trip.

The cheapest electricity is in Norrbotten

One of the reasons why it is so cheap for Dennis Krogh-Vennemo to charge his electric car is that he has managed to tie his electricity contract to a fixed price of 50 öre / kWh.

If you look at Sweden as a whole, people who drive electric cars in the electricity price area have one, ie Norrbotten County, the cheapest charge in Sweden - while people in southern Sweden have a clearly higher kilowatt price for their electricity.

- Of course there are some costs to having an electric car, but it does for the petrol as well, says Dennis Krogh-Vennemo.
