Representatives of Christian communities were around the table Monday afternoon in the premises of the Episcopal Conference of Chad to call on the Transitional Military Council, in power since

the death of Idriss Déby Itno a year ago

, to change method of governance.

Father Xavier Kouldjim spoke on behalf of Christian organizations.

Many promises of change have been made by the CNT for a brief period of transition.

But we do not see any notable improvement in the governance of the institutions.

We note that the conditions likely to ensure the success of this inclusive national dialogue are not yet all met.

For the Christians of Chad, the inclusive national dialogue which will be organized after the postponement of the one announced for May 10, must make room for all the sons of Chad.

"

We dare to believe that the forthcoming inclusive national dialogue will open up new paths towards a consensual civil transition respectful of the constitutional order in order to truly deserve its national and inclusive character

 ," said Father Xavier Kouldjim.

The Churches invite all those involved in the transition to work so that the current transition leads to the establishment of a truly democratic regime.
