While the legislative process was completed with the passing of the National Assembly plenary session this morning (3rd), National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok evaluated, "Today, we have entered an advanced stage of reforming the criminal justice system."

Chairman Park Byeong-seok said, "I will say something as chairman," just before the plenary session after the resolution of the bill.

Chairman Park said, "There were many issues and fierce arguments in the process of this discussion (the legislative overhaul)," he said.

He continued, "I ask the Special Committee for Judicial Reform to faithfully supplement the points to be supplemented through in-depth discussion. The direction must be in a direction that does not reduce the number of unjust citizens, protect human rights, rescue victims of crime, and reduce the total amount of capability to respond to criminal investigations. do,” he added.

Chairman Park said, "In a broad framework, this reform bill was based on the so-called chairman's arbitration bill."

Regarding the arbitration proposal, he said, "It was ratified by the bipartisan general meeting, and the transition committee representing the new government also said that it respects this agreement, and the incumbent president also evaluated it as a good agreement."

Chairman Park said, "This agreement is the highest level that the politicians can agree on."

It is interpreted that the agreement was aimed at the fact that the agreement was overturned due to opposition from the people's strength and the side of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol after the agreement between the ruling and opposition floor leaders over the chairman's arbitration bill.

Chairman Park apologized, saying, "In the process, there was a clash between the ruling and opposition parties that the people criticized and hated. I express my deep regrets."

After Chairman Park's remarks, Democratic lawmakers applauded.

People's Power lawmakers were not present.

Immediately after the vote on the amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act, lawmakers from the People's Power were strongly protesting, shouting slogans to "Resign" to Chairman Park, and then left.

As President Moon Jae-in announced the amendment to the Prosecutor's Office Act and the Criminal Procedure Act, which are bills that are 'examination and overhaul', at a cabinet meeting in the afternoon, the Democratic Party's push for oversight and overhaul legislation was finalized.

It has been 21 days since the Democratic Party confirmed the promotion of the party argument through the general assembly of the House of Representatives on the 12th of last month.
