According to the preschool in Östervåla in Heby municipality, videos are currently being spread on social media about how to make bombs from plug solvents.

The trend among children and young people has led to two incidents recently.

One incident took place on a playground in Östervåla.

A 5-year-old boy who was on an excursion with his preschool happened to get the drug that was scattered under the fir trees at the playground.

- We were all shocked by this.

Thankfully, the staff acted quickly and the boy survived without serious injuries, but it is life-threatening that such funds are available in connection with playgrounds, says Jenny Essén Johansson, principal at Östervåla-Harbo preschool.

Police involved

The second incident took place outside Folkets hus in Heby.

A pet bottle was blown up there, which also probably contained stopper solvent.

According to the police, a car parked nearby was damaged.

- Anyone can make these lighter bombs.

Since we had two incidents on the map, we now choose to act.

We have had a meeting with Heby municipality and gone out with information to parents to make them understand the unsuitability of this, says Jörgen Wilestedt, municipal police in Heby and Tierp.

Store before age limit

The bombs are made from products that can be obtained in grocery stores and therefore two stores in Heby municipality have chosen to limit availability, says Jörgen Wilestedt.

- We have seen that a trader in Heby introduced an age limit on these funds and a trader in Östervåla removed them from the shelves, he says.
