It is reported by TASS.

“Cooperation between Austria and NATO within the framework of a partnership for peace is once again possible in full,” the Austrian Foreign Ministry said.

The resumption of cooperation became possible after Turkey's refusal to block such cooperation.

Since 2016, Ankara has blocked Vienna's participation in the NATO partnership program due to Austria's demand to stop negotiations on Turkey's accession to the European Union.

“The Individual Partnership Program for 2021-2024, agreed between Austria and NATO, was adopted by NATO countries on April 4.

All NATO allies, including Turkey, agreed during the period of silence,” the Austrian foreign ministry said.

They added that the new program is important for the Austrian armed forces to fully participate in NATO exercises and training activities, as well as to maintain and further develop the ability to participate in international operations.

Earlier, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said he would veto Finland and Sweden's NATO membership at the upcoming Madrid summit.
