Russian Investigative Committee opened a case due to the desecration of a monument to Soviet soldiers in Lithuania

The case was initiated under paragraphs.

"a" and "b" part 2 of Art.

243.4 of the Criminal Code of Russia (damage to a memorial object located outside the Russian Federation, perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland or its interests during the Great Patriotic War, committed with a group of people).

Investigators are taking steps to identify the persons involved in the crime.

The Investigative Committee reported that their actions would be given a criminal-legal assessment.

Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to establish the circumstances of the desecration of the monument to Soviet soldiers in Neringa on the Curonian Spit in Lithuania.
