The political scientist said that the position broadcast by Poland is not true, because, having officially abandoned Russian gas, the country "continues to receive it in reverse."
“It must be emphasized that Poland really wanted to become the main US satellite in Europe for many years, a lot of efforts were directed to this,” the expert said.
He recalled that even during the presidency of Donald Trump in the United States, Poland turned to the American side with a request to place an American military base on its territory.
“In fact, Poland is seeking from the United States the exclusive right to be the main instrument of US policy in Europe, it has largely succeeded in this ... Poland’s anti-Russian statements are what Washington would like to hear,” Shapovalov explained.
The Polish authorities are striving for further escalation in relations between the West and Russia, the expert believes.
Earlier, Poland continued to insist on the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions.
