It was at the end of 2019 that Rector Johan Johansson's support association sent in a citizen proposal demanding a public apology from Karlskrona municipality to the Rector and his family.

The association also demanded that the municipality actively participate in the former principal's rehabilitation, and that a public thank-you be held.

The background was the municipality acting in connection with the principal being seriously injured in a self-inflicted car accident after the murder of the eight-year-old girl Yara in Karlskrona in 2014.

"A tragedy"

After almost three years, the municipality's response to the citizen proposal has now come: There will be no public apology.

- The political leadership takes no responsibility.

They have put this in a drawer and did not want to touch it, says the support association's chairman, Mattias Liedholm.

In its response, the municipality writes that it has "understanding and compassion" for the consequences of the accident, but that the thanksgiving that was carried out when the principal's employment ended was handled "in accordance with the existing routines" - and that the municipality has no legal responsibility for what happened .

- I feel completely empty.

I know so many who have felt so bad about this, and think above all of Johan's family.

Now the wounds will open again.

It is a tragedy, says Mattias Liedholm.

SVT is looking for the municipal board chairman Sandra Bizzozero (S) for a comment.
