Prime Minister Kishida, who is visiting Thailand, attends a welcome ceremony held in the capital Bangkok from around 6 pm Japan time, and then holds a summit meeting with Prime Minister Prayut.

Prime Minister Kishida wants to confirm cooperation on the situation in Ukraine based on the fact that Thailand, which has a neutral position on Russia, is chairing the APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, as well as North Korea and Myanmar. I would like to show that the two countries are united in tackling the issues facing the world and the region, such as the situation in Ukraine.

In addition, with China in mind as it strengthens its expansion into the East China Sea and South China Sea, it is expected to discuss agreements on the export of defense equipment and technology transfer from Japan to Thailand.

In addition to exchanging opinions on measures against the new corona and the ideal form of economic cooperation between the two countries, we would like to agree on the start of negotiations on the "Criminal Mutual Administrative Assistance Treaty," which allows investigative authorities to directly exchange necessary information and evidence without going through diplomatic routes. ..
