Two weeks before the official submission of candidacies for the legislative elections, the campaign has already begun on the ground, for Les Républicains.

Objective: turn the page of the presidential election and retain the maximum number of seats in the Assembly.

Currently, LR candidates are playing for the survival of the party.

It's time for political as well as economic survival for the right.

So everything is good to try to convince voters for the legislative elections: sports clubs, markets, local businesses, each candidate is currently closer to the population.

Republicans rely on their local roots to make a difference.

Evidenced by the new slogan of the party, "To Defend You".

The party that is preparing for this election looks like a catch-up after the presidential election.

A national council will take place on Saturday, to present the 577 candidates who will run under the banner of the Republicans.

All will be helped financially by the party, up to 5000 euros, a loan which will have to be reimbursed by the elected candidates, but which will turn into a donation for the losers.

The defeat of Valérie Pécresse sows doubt

A sum that was not enough to convince several personalities, a time tempted by a constituency, but who finally abstained against the score of Valérie Pécresse on their territory.

This is the case of Nicolas Florian in Gironde or Patrick Stefanini in Yvelines for example.

Dropouts to which must be added those of the candidates with lower notoriety, who, given the score of LR in the presidential election, feared not to see their campaign expenses reimbursed by the State.
