• Korea Case The Prosecutor's Office claims between 2 and 3 years of internment for 5 minors for the gang rape of a minor under guardianship

The five minors of the so-called "Korea Case" have been sentenced this Monday

to one year of internment

each after admitting that they gang-raped a 14-year-old girl, a minor protected by the Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs (IMAS).

The parties have reached an agreement of conformity this Monday before the trial for these facts is held in the courts of sa Gerreria de Palma.

The minors must also compensate the injured party with 8,500 euros for the damages caused as a result of the group sexual assault, as the newspapers Última Hora and Diario de Mallorca have advanced.

Agents of the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) of the National Police have shielded the courts this morning in order to avoid possible altercations between the relatives of the defendants and those of the victim, who were at the doors of this building judicial.

The minors

gathered on Christmas Eve 2019 to drink alcoholic beverages

in the Palma neighborhood of Son Gotleu, from which they moved to an apartment in the Camp Redó area related to the victim's youngest friend, where the sexual abuse was committed.

The day after the gang rape, the facts were reported to the National Police and the proceedings passed into the hands of the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM), which learned the identity of some of those involved thanks to the declaration of the victim.

A coroner examined the minor at a hospital and determined that she had been the victim of rape.

As the victim explained, not all the young people participated in the rape, but they did consent to it

.

As part of the investigation into these events, the National Police arrested six minors, an adult and a girl, also a minor.
