Assistant to the head of the Pentagon Wallander called the task of the United States in relation to Russia, Ukraine and Europe

“The challenge for the US government in relation to Russia, as well as to European security, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, is for this crisis to end in a strategic failure for Russia,” Wallander said at an Atlantic Council seminar in Washington.

In her opinion, Western sanctions over time will "increasingly" affect the Russian economy in general and the military-industrial sector in particular.

Earlier, Wallander said there was an expectation in the United States that NATO would make a political decision in which it would designate Europe as a region with an acute threat.
