A 23-year-old transgender woman filed a complaint last Wednesday against a man who hit her in downtown Lyon the same morning, around 9:30 a.m.

His report allowed the arrest of the 38-year-old suspect rue Grenette (Lyon 2nd), only half an hour after the facts.

According to the victim's testimony, the attacker questioned her insistently "to find out whether she was a man or a woman", as mentioned by the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of the Rhône.

Aggravated violence

Noting that the young woman did not want to talk to him, he would have violently carried away, to the point of hitting her before leaving the premises.

The victim was prescribed a day of temporary incapacity for work (ITT).

During his police custody, the suspect, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the facts, recognized the aggravated violence and expressed his regrets.

According to him, he would “never have had this behavior without the consumption of alcohol”.

Presented to the Lyon prosecutor's office on Friday, he was imprisoned, after being sentenced to eight months' imprisonment, including four months in prison.
