Officials recalled that Biden, on his first day as president, announced the halt to construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would supply oil from Canada and the Bakken field to American refineries.

The Prosecutor General called this step erroneous and noted that they consider it illegal.

“We warned that if your decision is not reconsidered, the Americans will face “serious negative consequences”, the consumer will be forced to pay more, and our allies will become even more dependent on Russian and Middle Eastern oil,” they said.

The letter notes that the Keystone XL verdict also set a dangerous precedent for future building permits that could bolster US energy security and independence.

The authors of the document believe that the "caustic rhetoric" of the 46th US president and the vilification of the American industry associated with fossil fuels have weakened the country's energy projects - both offshore and onshore.

At the same time, prosecutors general, citing The Wall Street Journal, recall that the Biden administration intends to import more oil from Canada.

However, existing pipelines have insufficient capacity.

The authors of the document state that Keystone XL could be used for this purpose, which would transport almost 1 million barrels of oil per day.

“Such hypocrisy could be applauded if it weren’t so offensive to US energy workers and rural residents, to whom the pipeline promised many economic benefits,” officials said.

In their opinion, Biden’s “indulgence of the radical environmental electorate” led to the current crisis in the United States.

Earlier, Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr called the Biden administration responsible for destabilizing the country's energy security.

In his opinion, the crisis in the United States occurred due to the President's climate policy.
