The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, wrote a fire letter to Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth, criticizing the way Documenta Kassel dealt with the issue of anti-Semitism.

The background to this are allegations of anti-Semitism against the Documenta XV in Kassel at the beginning of the year, when the curating artist collective Ruangrupa was accused of, among other things, accrediting a Palestinian collective whose members sometimes work in an organization named after a Hitler supporter of the 1930s and which Ruangrupa does not disinvite wanted to.

"For me, the orientation of the podiums has a clear bias in favor of anti-Semitism," writes Schuster in his letter to Claudia Roth.

"In this context, I was also surprised that the topic of anti-Palestinian racism found its way into the program."

Only clear commitments and decisive political action would help against anti-Semitism.

Ruangrupa and the Documenta Society rejected the allegations.

An expert forum on the subject was announced, but the President of the Central Council, Schuster, criticized the fact that the umbrella organization of the Jewish community was not involved.
