See the students' construction and how they prepare for the procession in the clip above.

In two years, there has been no folk festival with thousands of people due to the corona pandemic.

In 2020, the procession was suspended for the first time since World War II.

Then the cortege committee made an exhibition on a smaller scale instead.

In 2021, a miniature cortege was built and displayed in shop windows around Gothenburg.

But this year the procession is back and 1,540 students are participating.

People often bring up and joke about current events from the past year - but the corona pandemic will not be in focus in this year's procession.

- To joke about the poor management of those in power is fun, but to joke about the corona where people have died and affected many very negatively, we leave that behind us, says Charles Strömblad chairman of Chalmers Cortège Committé.
